Plans for the development of a new industrial building for a Cornish landscaping company, including new offices and training rooms, have been recommended for approval. The owner of Team Maintenance Services is seeking permission for a replacement building at a farm site to the north of the village of Mitchell.Team Maintenance Services is a landscaping business which has been operating in excess of 13 years and services sites across the whole of Cornwall. The business currently employs 22 people which will be expanded to provide an additional four positions as part of this investment.Consent is sought for a building to provide storage, offices, reception, training and general staff welfare facilities. The steel portal framed and ridged roof structure would measure 48 metres by 15 metres.A report to be scrutinised by Cornwall Council’s central sub-area planning committee has recommended the application is conditionally approved, despite objections. While it is accepted that large building will have a visual impact on the area, the report considers adequate mitigation can be secured to outweigh the level of harm.
